Rodrigo Maia has been a lawyer for over 15 years and is focused on anti-corruption, corporate investigations and compliance. He worked in the largest corporate investigations in Brazil. He also participated in the negotiation of relevant leniency agreements, such as the first leniency agreement executed simultaneously among Brazilian (MPF) and foreign (DoJ and SEC) authorities, first leniency agreement executed simultaneously between the MPF, AGU, CGU, DoJ and the SEC, and the largest agreement executed by the AGU until today and the CGU. He represents numerous multinational and Brazilian companies in negotiations related to anti-corruption before Brazilian authorities such as the AGU, CGU, MPF, PGR, State Prosecutors Offices, CVM (the equivalent to the SEC) and Brazilian Central Bank, acting, on many occasions, together with foreign lawyers.
Rodrigo Maia was a partner at Motta, Fernandes Rocha Advogados between 2013 and 2016 and at Sampaio Ferraz Advogados between 2016 and 2021.
He holds a law degree from PUC São Paulo, a specialization in Tax Law from COGEAE at PUC São Paulo and LL.M in Corporate Law from Insper.
Rodrigo Maia was selected, in 2020, by Global Investigations Review - GIR as one of the 40 most admired investigative lawyers under 40 years old in the world. In 2021, he was selected by Who’s Who Legal as Future Leader in the Investigations category.
